Listowel branch is getting a refresh!

After over 20 years, the Listowel Branch of the North Perth Public Library (NPPL) is getting a much-needed refresh! Say hello to a lighter and brighter space!

Starting April 27 to May 8, local maintenance crews will be occupying the NPPL space to begin the rejuvenation process. This is the last and largest step of the North Perth Public Library’s branch refresh project starting in 2023. While the historical Carnegie portion will remain untouched, the addition built in the early 2000’s, is being brightened to improve visibility, create a more welcoming space and align with the library’s brand. Crews will be painting all walls of the 5500+ square foot space.

Because of the uniqueness of the Listowel Branch building, operations will be impacted for a duration of two weeks. As this is a first for the NPPL, staff have been diligently planning to continue offering as many services as possible during this time check social media, phone in, or pop by to see what services are affected daily.

“We’re excited to see this project move forward and the improvements it will bring to the library space. While there may be some temporary impacts to daily service as work progresses, these upgrades will help us continue to provide a safe, welcoming, and comfortable space for everyone in our community,” says Manager of Branch Experience, Allie Purcell.

This will conclude the branch refresh projects at all three branches of the NPPL. Staff want to express their sincere appreciation for the community’s patience as they update our spaces to improve patron experience.
